FAQ

What is CBD?2018-02-27T03:30:25-05:00

CBD is extracted from Industrial hemp plants that contain Cannabinoids. We are hard-wired with a system of cannabinoid receptors throughout our brains and bodies. When these receptors are activated, they enable two-way communication between body systems. Cannabinoids have a healing effect. Please click here for a bit more education.

Does CBD get you high?2018-02-27T03:14:11-05:00

Absolutely not! In order to be legally considered hemp, the hemp plant must contain less than 0.3% THC. THC, or tetrahydrocannabinol, is the psychoactive chemical compound found in cannabis. The 0.3% amount of THC is negligible and cannot produce a high. In fact, CBD is known to counteract the psychoactive properties of THC. You cannot experience any psychoactive effects “High or Stoned” with our products.

Will I fail a drug test?2018-02-27T01:20:19-05:00

Most drug tests in the work place search for the psychoactive compound THC, not Cannabidiol (CBD) or other compounds found naturally in hemp. However, lab results show that hemp oil can contain trace amounts of THC. Although only a very small amount is present, it could cause a positive result when screening urine and blood specimens. If you are subject to any form of drug testing or screening, we (and the US Armed Services) recommend that you do not ingest this product. Please consult with your healthcare practitioner and drug screening/testing company or employer before consuming these products.  *If this is a concern for you, please try our pure isolate line.

What are some of the benefits?2018-02-25T04:15:59-05:00

The fact that CBD-rich cannabis is non-psychoactive or less psychoactive than THC-dominant strains makes it an appealing option for patients looking for relief from inflammation, pain, anxiety, psychosis, seizures, spasms, and other conditions without disconcerting feelings of lethargy or dysphoria.

Scientific and clinical research—much of it sponsored by the US government—underscores CBD’s potential as a treatment for a wide range of conditions, including arthritis, diabetes, alcoholism,MS, chronic pain, schizophrenia, PTSD, depression, antibiotic-resistant infections, epilepsy, and other neurological disorders. CBD has demonstrable neuroprotective and neurogenic effects, and its anti-cancer properties are currently being investigated at several academic research centers in the United States and elsewhere. Recently (August 2017) The FDA has declared CBD as “beneficial” and is now asking all users of CBD products for their input! We suggest doing a little bit further research on projectcbd.org website to see a fuller list of benefits including those above.

What are Cannabinoids in layman’s terms?2018-02-25T02:45:17-05:00

Cannabinoids are naturally found in the industrial hemp plant. The most abundant one found in the hemp plant may promote and support the nutritional health of aging bodies. Source: US Government patent on Cannabinoids as Antioxidants and Neuroprotectants #6,630,507. Cannabinoids interact with our Endocannabinoid System, which consists of a series of receptors located in the brain, central nervous system, and many other areas. The ECS helps promote/regulate various important biological processes.  Recently the FDA has declared CBD as “beneficial” and is asking now all users of CBD products for their input!

Does CBD interact with other medications?2018-02-25T02:48:58-05:00

Yes. CBD inhibits the cytochrome P450 enzyme, which is involved in metabolizing many drugs. Compounds in grapefruit inhibit the same enzyme group, which is why physicians advice patients not to eat grapefruit shortly before or after taking a medication. By inhibiting cytochrome P450, CBD can either reduce or increase the effects of other drugs. In some situations, it may be advisable for a physician to monitor a patient’s blood levels of other medications while taking CBD.

How do I figure out the proper serving size?2018-02-25T02:49:52-05:00

Legally, we are unable to recommend serving size, however, we suggest following the product’s recommended serving size for a full week. Make sure you’re taking it daily. The best time of day to take hemp oil is based on personal preference and when you feel hemp oil is needed in your body. We suggest doing further research on projectcbd.org on their Patient Guidance page.
